The Panama City CRA board authorized staff to publish required notices and send draft community redevelopment plan amendments and updates to the city planning board and taxing authorities to begin the formal adoption process. The draft comprehensive updates for all four CRA districts were prepared with consultant GAI and were posted online and discussed in a community workshop on Sept. 30.
Staff said the goal is adoption by the end of the calendar year and that the next steps after the notice period are a resolution by the CRA board and ordinance adoption by the city commission. The board approved the recommendation unanimously (4–0, with one member briefly absent during roll call). Staff will proceed with the notification timeline and follow statutory consultation steps with taxing authorities and the planning board.
