Mayor Jesse Nelson of Lynn Haven briefed the delegation on three infrastructure priorities: replacement of aging asbestos water mains, development of an East Regional stormwater pond to serve roughly 10,000 residents across about 300 acres, and funding for a PD&E (project development and environmental) study for a planned Fire Station No. 3 near Middle Bayou.

Nelson said the stormwater pond would centralize retention for a large portion of the city and reduce the need for site-by-site retention on private projects. He said the new fire station would improve response times across Lynn Haven and provide secondary support for airport-related incidents.

Mexico Beach Councilman Eric Vasaghi thanked legislators for hurricane-recovery funding and described near-term needs including replacement of an aging sewer line that runs through Tyndall Air Force Base and completion of stormwater improvements. He said the city is preparing infrastructure bids and anticipates requesting state or federal assistance for large capital work.

Speakers encouraged follow-up with legislative staff and county commissioners to identify funding programs and propose next steps. No formal votes or statutory changes were made during the session.
