Junior Service League donates $12,533 for new swings at JSL Park in Lake Jackson

Representatives of the Junior Service League of Brazosport presented a $12,533 donation to the City of Lake Jackson on Oct. 20 to fund installation of new swings at JSL Park. The donation supplements a $5,000 grant the group received and follows prior volunteer work by the group on park maintenance, gazebo upkeep and the recently completed restroom at the site.

At the meeting the presenter said the league coordinates workdays with the city’s parks and recreation department for mowing, mulching and tree work and that swings have been absent at the park for a long time. Council members and staff thanked the volunteers for their work and for funding the equipment.
