Lake County commissioners recognize Ohio 4‑H Week; youth outline leadership and skills gained

She outlined 4‑H programming available in Lake County, including livestock, saddle horse, shooting sports, non‑animal projects, camps, school programming and leadership clubs.
Several youth described what they learned in 4‑H: River Livingood said 4‑H taught leadership and public speaking skills; Emma Feckenen mentioned adaptability and public speaking; Ariana Hanson highlighted time management and finances from showing livestock; Lorelei Budzicki and other youth discussed mentoring younger participants and non‑animal project successes at state fairs.
Commissioners praised the program's volunteer base and fundraising work; one commissioner noted Lake County's record‑setting 4‑H auction and the value of the county fair to local agriculture.
The board approved the recognition resolution by voice vote and paused for photographs with the youth groups.
