Aaron told the board the primary began with 40 races and ended with 38 after two candidates withdrew. He said the cycle included the creation of three school districts with 21 seats total, and that 19 of those seats required a primary, which he described as a heavier-than-usual workload for election staff.
Board members moved and seconded routine items, approving the Nov. 19 minutes and an item listed as “item number 3” by voice vote with all members present saying “aye.” A motion to adjourn passed by voice vote shortly after the business concluded.
During the meeting a board member recognized Nikki Stevens for receiving a Certified Election/Registration Administrator (CIRA) credential. A board member noted that few people in Utah hold the certification.
