Officials report progress on regional manufacturing collaborative and ERCF strategic planning

Courtney said the collaborative — an 11‑employer group using the U.S. Chamber Foundation’s talent pipeline management framework — has identified three critical occupations (assemblers, machine maintenance and machine operators) and is now quantifying talent supply by analyzing recent hiring and retention data. The next steps are to map training and credential needs and engage resource partners such as community colleges, high schools and staffing agencies.
On the ERCF, Courtney said the board has slimmed its membership and plans a two‑day strategic planning session in November; the organization has more than 85 students enrolled in its programming and is seeking a paid executive director. Courtney thanked the local Community Foundation for a grant to help hire a director and cover professional services for strategic planning.
