Council selects Pasadena councilmember as Region 14 director to TML board after two ballots

The Missouri City Council voted on Oct. 20 to direct the mayor’s vote for Region 14 director to the Texas Municipal League Board of Directors.

Crystal Wong explained that Region 14 encompasses the southeast Texas region including Houston-area cities and that each member city is entitled to one vote to be cast by a majority of its governing body. Councilmember Boney nominated incumbent Sally Branson of Friendswood and cited her experience; that nomination failed on a roll call vote (4–3). Councilmember Clauser then nominated Emmanuel Guerrero, a Pasadena councilmember; the motion to nominate Guerrero passed on a subsequent roll call vote, 5–2. The council therefore authorized the mayor to cast the city’s Region 14 vote for Emmanuel Guerrero.

The council took no other related action.
