Bonita Springs council hears concerns over Bonita Beach Road redevelopment; no vote taken

An applicant seeking a comprehensive-plan amendment and planned development (PD) for a commercial project on Bonita Beach Road presented rebuttal remarks and answered council questions Tuesday as residents raised concerns about boat traffic, outdoor music and noise, parking and lighting.

The project team said the site has long permitted commercial uses including restaurants and that the PD will comply with the city’s land development code. The applicant’s representative said, “We will honor every commitment we make in this PD document. We will be a good neighbor,” and offered to provide a professional sound engineer’s verification that outdoor music would comply with the city’s noise ordinance.
