The Fairfield Union Local School District Board of Education voted unanimously on a slate of routine items during its Oct. 20 meeting, approving minutes, personnel and volunteer appointments, substitute lists and several student trips.
A majority of the evening’s formal actions were handled together or in quick succession during the consent agenda and subsequent agenda motions. The board approved the Sept. 22 meeting minutes, accepted a donation to athletics and adopted routine financial and insurance reports as part of the consent agenda. Several personnel actions and educational trips were approved separately after discussion and roll-call votes.
Key approvals included the board’s motion to approve personal service supplemental contracts that added three supplemental staff assignments (including the head softball coach), the appointment of Katie Barber as a volunteer gymnastics coach, and the acceptance of substitute teacher and substitute classified lists. Personnel and volunteers
Among personnel actions, the board approved personal service supplemental contracts (three positions presented) on a motion by Mister Hoffman, seconded by Missus Johns; the motion passed with a unanimous roll call. The board separately approved Katie Barber as a volunteer gymnastics coach and accepted substitute teacher and classified substitute lists, each by unanimous roll call.
Field trips and student activities
The board approved the following educational trips and activities by unanimous roll calls: DECA Day at the Columbus Blue Jackets (Nov. 17, 2025, Nationwide Arena), DECA district competition at Capital University (Jan. 23, 2026), FFA invitational judging event in Springfield (Mar. 5, 2026), and FCCLA career day at Nationwide Arena (Dec. 11, 2025).
