Akron City Council approves series of ordinances on bonds, parks, water projects and equipment

Akron City Council approved a slate of ordinances covering bond and note issues for special assessments, public-works projects, technology purchases and equipment purchases, and financing applications for water-supply projects.

Several items were placed on the consent agenda, which the council approved 13–0 earlier in the meeting. Specific items noted on the agenda included an ordinance offered by Councilman Lombardo providing for issuance and sale of up to $475,419.75 of bonds to pay property-owner portions of street-improvement costs and an ordinance to issue up to $13,000,000 in notes for property-owner portions of another street-improvement program; both were placed on consent. An unusually large figure appeared in the agenda text for a separate bond ordinance (listed as $200,000,662,879.56 in the meeting transcript); that ordinance was also placed on the consent agenda.
