Commissioners propose air show subcommittee; bank account reactivation and seed money discussed

Members of the Rangeley Airport Commission discussed forming an air show subcommittee to coordinate planning and oversight for a potential event. A commissioner said elected officials and others had expressed interest and volunteered to serve. The commission did not take a formal vote to create the subcommittee during the meeting.

Staff reported that the event account had gone inactive at the bank and that paperwork is being sent to reactivate it. The staff member said they would check the balance and estimated "I think it's around 14,000," but immediately added "don't quote me on that." Select Board representatives were reported to have shown support in principle.

No funding appropriation or formal committee formation was approved in the meeting. Commissioners asked staff to follow up on account reactivation and to identify interested volunteers and next steps for organizing the event.
