Tech depot students prepared 1,700 Chromebooks; district expands career pathways and hands-on student roles

Operations and technology staff described a “tech depot” summer program in which a small team of student workers prepared and deployed approximately 1,500 student Chromebooks and 200 staff devices, handling unboxing, imaging and distribution. Staff said the roles have provided hands-on experience in production, repair and warehouse work for high-school students.
Leaders said the district plans to expand career-pathway integration: automotive and technology career-pathway programs won awards and donations (the automotive pathway received a 2025 secondary-program-of-the-year recognition and a donated 2018 Subaru Forester), and the district intends to formalize tech-depot course credit or paid opportunities so students can support device maintenance during the school year and summers.
