Wenatchee proclaims Digital Access Day, marks Numerica PAC anniversary and recognizes city staff milestones

Sue Kane of NCW Tech Alliance and team members described the NCW Digital Access Coalition’s work and noted that the campaign reached more than 50,000 people across North Central Washington last year. Kane introduced policy intern Sofia Backus, who has worked on the digital-access campaign and was recognized at the meeting.
The council also marked the Numerica Performing Arts Center’s 25th anniversary with a proclamation issued by Mayor Poirier. Numerica representatives including Terry Sloan, board president, and Lance Gonzalez, vice president, thanked the city for its support.
Parks and recreation and human-resources staff presented first-quarter longevity awards for city employees. City staff announced four honorees: Park Maintenance Worker Ricky Lang and Recreation Coordinator Sydney McElroy (five years), Water Utility Worker Andy O’Kelly (10 years), and Utility Billing Specialist Theresa Reyes (20 years). The city said supervisors would be given awards to distribute to employees who could not attend the meeting.
These recognitions and proclamations were ceremonial; no council votes or budgetary actions were associated with the items at the Sept. 11 meeting.
