Indian River Shores LPA recommends update to comprehensive plan, future land‑use map for transmittal to town council

The Local Planning Agency of the Town of Indian River Shores voted unanimously to recommend approval of updates to the town’s comprehensive plan and its updated future land‑use map, following a presentation by consultant Hadley Peterson of Kimley Horn and a brief public comment period.

Hadley Peterson, a planner with Kimley Horn, told the LPA the update was an “ear‑based” statutory review required under Florida law and aimed to align the town’s policies with changes in state statutes and recent local code updates. The recommendation matters because the comprehensive plan sets long‑range goals that guide zoning, the land development code and capital investments.
