On Sept. 16, 2025, the Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners voted to accept the 2024 county audit, which county CFO Andrew Bernat said contained no findings or required corrective actions.
Bernat told commissioners the audit process included on‑ and off‑site work across county departments and constitutional offices, multiple fund audits and a single audit for federal grants. He said, "for the tenth year in a row, there are no audit findings, no recommendations, and no corrective actions required." Bernat thanked staff in finance and purchasing for their work.
Director Philip Lanza and other commissioners praised the finance team for the result as evidence of sound fiscal management. Commissioner Van Doren moved to accept the audit; Commissioner Soloway seconded, and the board approved the resolution by roll call.
As next steps, the board’s certification and required affidavits will be filed with the Division of Local Government Services; the county will publish a synopsis of the audit and post the full audit on the county website, Bernat said.
