Council appoints Eric Dawson to youth sports advisory committee

The City of Copperas Cove City Council on Oct. 6 appointed Eric Dawson to the Youth Sports Advisory Committee.
Jeff Stauter, the city’s director of parks and recreation, told council the committee is composed of 15 citizens serving two-year terms and that it currently had four vacancies. Staff reported receiving one application for the youth sports advisory committee from Eric Dawson and recommended council appoint him to a two-year term.
Councilman John Hale nominated Dawson, a motion seconded by Councilman Sean Alzona; the council approved the nomination by voice vote. No additional discussion or alternate nominations were made.
Stauter and council members said the appointment fills one of the committee’s vacancies and helps the parks and recreation department continue oversight of youth-sports programs.
