Sweetwater commission adopts final millage for 2025–26 after brief public hearing

The City of Sweetwater Commission adopted the city’s final millage rate for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2025, and ending Sept. 30, 2026, during a second public hearing held Sept. 22, 2025.

The public hearing for the millage rate, required by Florida Statute section 200.065 (TRIM), was opened and closed without public comment. Commissioner Yano moved to adopt the resolution and Commissioner Reynaldo Rey seconded; the clerk took a roll-call vote that recorded all votes as yes and the item passed.

The resolution transmits the millage rate per the TRIM requirement and provides an effective date in the text of the resolution. The commission did not receive or record any public testimony on the millage during the hearing.

The commission’s adoption of the millage rate completes the TRIM notice process that permits the city to set property tax revenue for the upcoming fiscal year; the resolution text references Florida Statute section 200.065. The resolution was approved by roll-call vote at the Sept. 22 meeting.
