The City Council approved awarding the 2025 Damaged Luminaire Replacement Project (project SW25-01) to KRCI for $155,960, the lowest responsive bid from a rebid after procurement errors in the initial advertisement.
Project engineer Jesse King said the first advertisement in June produced nine bids with several errors, so staff recommended rejecting them and rebidding. After re-advertising on Aug. 21, six bids were received on Sept. 11 and KRCI submitted the low responsive bid. The council approved the award and authorized the mayor to sign the contract documents.
Council members asked about the administrative time required to rebid; King said it took a few days and additional staff coordination. The council approved the motion by voice vote with no opposition. Staff will proceed to execute the contract and schedule the luminaire replacements.
