City awards $445,000 contract to repair wastewater plant South Viewing Area

The Wenatchee City Council approved awarding the construction contract for the wastewater treatment plant South Viewing Area project (project 2402) to TMC Contractors LLC, the lowest responsive bidder at $445,000. The engineer’s estimate and the adopted budget were $450,000; funding is provided by the city’s 405 sewer fund.
Mike Hodgson, wastewater treatment plant supervisor, told the council the project combines repairs following two emergency failures earlier in the year: a damaged 36-inch primary effluent line at the treatment plant and an Old Station force main failure. He said the project was included in the capital improvement plan for 2024–25 and that the contractor work is expected to start this fall, weather permitting; Hodgson said he expects the work may extend into 2026.
Councilmember Hornby moved to award the contract and Councilmember Cuevas seconded. The council approved the motion by voice vote. Hodgson said the project is fully funded by the sewer fund and that the department will proceed with contract execution and scheduling.
