What the contract covers
- Scope and cost: The contract will operate up to 10 Head Start classrooms for three- and four-year-olds. The estimated total cost is $884,610 for the coming program year.
- Locations: Staff said Head Start slots will be spread across several sites in the county, including Spring Mills Primary, Hedgesville, Berkeley Heights and community partners such as Inwood Family Worship. Bunker Hill will host Berkeley County Pre‑K classrooms this year, staff added.
Board action
A board member moved and the board approved the Head Start/Pre‑K contract at the stated estimate. The contract is intended to be part of the district’s universal pre‑K offerings.
