House approves multiple local bills on third reading, including Ipswich senior tax-deferral change

The Massachusetts House advanced and, in several cases, passed a series of local bills on third reading, moving some measures to enactment and others to be engrossed.
Among the measures taken up, House Bill 3156, a measure to increase the income limit for the senior tax deferral in the town of Ipswich, was passed to be enacted by voice vote. The chair reported several other bills released by committee and taken on third reading, including a bill increasing the age limit for retired police officers serving as special police officers in the town of Weston (House 4031), a measure relative to the Richmond Free Public Library (House 4154), authorization for the city of Watertown to lease property at 124 Watertown Street (House 4205), and an act amending the charter of the city of Malden (House 4233). The chamber also moved measures concerning the Lincoln Exaction Program in the city of Medford (House 4252), and a charter-related bill for the city of Lynn (House 4149).
Representative Walsh of Peabody offered an amendment to a charter bill; the House adopted the amendment and then passed the bill to be engrossed.
