District staff provided an update on construction planning for projects funded in part by recent bond proceeds and ongoing master planning work.
Dr. Rowling said core planning teams for academics and for PE/athletics continue to meet biweekly and that administration is soliciting end-user feedback through user groups and student panels at the four elementary schools. The district selected Cunningham Recreation to plan and install playgrounds, using GameTime as the manufacturer, and chose Batavia-based IFB as the furniture partner for Kaneland High School projects.
Upcoming work includes continued user-group meetings, development of playground layouts to share with stakeholders, and internal planning with transportation and maintenance departments. Dr. Rowling said construction of transportation and maintenance facilities is expected to begin sometime after the winter. Primary campus changes discussed include stadium expansion, movement of tennis courts and addition of a few parking lots; an on-campus fire‑training area is not included in the current budget.
No board action was required; staff will continue planning and bring refinements to the board as design details and schedules are finalized.
