The LaSalle City Council approved a special event permit to close the 100 block of Marquette Street from 5 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 30, 2025, for a trunk-or-treat hosted by business owners Katie Orsini and Ricky Parsons.

City staff confirmed the applicants had held a prior special event without problems. Alderman Mary Simaman Thompson and others said the event appeared family-friendly and appropriate; a motion to approve passed on a roll call with no recorded opposition.

No additional conditions, fees or insurance requirements were discussed publicly at the meeting. Staff will process the permit and finalize any operational details with the event organizers.
