City staff said building, fire and inspection staff and the fire chief had reviewed the updates and recommended moving from the older editions the city used to the more recent 2024/2025 editions reflected in the ordinance language. The council approved separate ordinances for amendments tied to ordinance numbers cited in the agenda (for example, amendments referencing existing ordinances 17-93, 17-94, 17-96, 17-97, 17-98 and 17-99).

Council members described the action as routine code maintenance to align local code with contemporary standards; the city attorney and department staff were present to answer technical questions. The ordinances were placed on file and passed by roll call; no specific implementation timelines or fee changes were discussed during the meeting.
