SAN JOSE, Calif. — The San Jose City Council on Oct. 21 unanimously approved changes to the conditional use permit for Fuse, a multi‑level event venue at 58 South First Street, removing an earlier 250‑person‑per‑floor occupancy cap and eliminating a daytime lunch‑service requirement while placing limits on outdoor amplified music.
Planning staff told the council the applicant requested the amendments so operating hours and occupancy could reflect current uses and fire‑department‑approved occupancy levels. ‘‘The applicant is now proposing to remove this limit of 250 people per floor and allow for additional people based on the occupancy, as approved by fire and building departments,’’ deputy planning director Munira Sandhir told the council.
