She said Florida’s program is in approximately 19 states and that she is working with federal lawmakers to secure broader adoption. Olson described TIF’s origin and advocacy work and encouraged Floridians to register; she noted a national average delay of about six hours for family notification in some fatal incidents before ECI tools were available.
Mayor Jean Brown and several council members participated in a recognition photo; Olson distributed bracelets and flyers and said she is coordinating with congressional staff to pursue federal legislation that would promote wider adoption by other states.
