Solarize Norwalk program launches with local vendor; rebates up to $4,000, early-adopter bonus offered

Norwalk City staff and representatives from Solar Homes 360 and SmartRoofs Energy on Wednesday detailed Solarize Norwalk, a time-limited group-buy solar program that guarantees a cash rebate for participating homeowners and aims to lower rooftop solar costs through coordinated local outreach.

The program, which Norwalk staff said has launched and is scheduling events, uses tiered cash rebates tied to the number of installations in the campaign: $1,000 per household if 1–24 installations are achieved, $2,000 for 25–49, and $3,000 if the campaign reaches 50 or more. Organizers said an early-adopter bonus of $1,000 will be reserved for the first 15 enrollees; combined discounts can total up to $4,000 per household when all incentives apply.

“Every household is guaranteed savings,” Tom Smith, vice president of sales and marketing for Solar Homes 360, said during the presentation.
