Applicant seeks special-use permit for maternity group residence in South Fulton

Early Raquette, an applicant, requested a special-use permit at a City of South Fulton community zoning information meeting Oct. 6 to convert an existing single-family house into the Second Chance Maternity Home, a group residence for pregnant and parenting young women.

The Second Chance Maternity Home would house four to six residents ages 13 to 18, supervised by trained staff, Early Raquette said. "This permit is to establish the second chance maternity home on that property," Raquette said. Raquette described plans for parenting classes, vocational training and other trainings and said residents would be part of the state foster care system and could use available foster-care resources while living there and after they leave.
