JetBlue to resume nonstop service to New York and Boston from Daytona Beach in December

Volusia County District 2 Councilman Matt Reinhardt told the Port Orange City Council that JetBlue will resume nonstop flights from Daytona Beach International Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport and Boston beginning Dec. 4.
Reinhardt said the airline agreed to the service without local incentives and urged residents to use the new routes to help sustain them. “The important thing to remember here is... if you're utilizing our airport, which we hope you do, to utilize these flights because that's gonna be the only way that we can sustain those flights,” he said.
Council members noted the convenience of flying from Daytona Beach, citing shorter security lines and lower parking costs compared with larger airports. Reinhardt and council members said a well-used route could encourage JetBlue to consider additional destinations in the future.
