Council enters closed session under Wis. Stat. §19.85(1)(g) to discuss employee claim

The City of Deafell Finance Committee moved into closed session at the end of its Sept. 29 meeting to receive advice from legal counsel about strategy related to a pending or likely employee claim under state law.

The committee specifically cited Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(g) as the basis for closing the meeting to the public. A motion to go into closed session was made by Lebanholz and seconded by another alderperson; the roll-call vote recorded ayes from alderpersons present and the motion carried. After the roll call the chair stated, “We're in closed session.”
