County planning staff provided a status update on solar special-use applications and permitted solar acreage across Will County farmland. Margie (planning staff) told the committee the memo circulated last month still stands and that staff have added one or two new special-use applications since the memo was prepared.
Committee members asked staff to include a total-acreage column in the spreadsheet, to print column headings on each page, and to add a simple status key (for example: A = approved and final, B = approved pending permits/extensions, C = pending review) so members could quickly tell how many applications had advanced to final permitting and how many remained incomplete. Several members noted two large proposals are expected to come forward and requested the additional breakdown be provided at the next meeting.
Staff agreed to revise the table and return with the requested clarifications.
