Nicholas Halodakis, director of communications for Waukegan Public Schools, announced the district has launched a new bus-tracking app called StopFinder during the weekly communications segment for the week of Sept. 22. "Families can now track their child's school bus in real time with our new StopFinder app," Halodakis said.
The district said the app is free and that parents should check their email for an activation message, click the link to create a password, then download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Quick-start instructions are also posted on the district website. Halodakis described the tool as "easy to use" and said it gives parents access to route information and improves communication with district transportation.
The announcement did not include a timeline for adding new features or metrics on initial uptake. The segment specified only the activation steps and where to find instructions; it did not provide data on bus locations, privacy settings, or whether the app supports multiple guardians per student.
