Planning commission appoints Commissioner Harper to subdivision review committee

The Trinity County Planning Commission appointed Commissioner Ed Harper to serve on the Subdivision Review Committee during its Sept. 25 meeting.

Staff cited Trinity County Code Chapter 16.10.01 as the authority requiring the planning commission to appoint a commissioner to chair the committee; the planning director serves as the committee secretary. Commissioners discussed meeting frequency and timing; staff said the committee meets on an "as-needed" basis and historically held daytime meetings because of staff attendance.

Chair Barrett accepted a nomination for Commissioner Harper, and the commission confirmed the appointment by voice vote. Commissioners agreed the committee can be scheduled to meet on days and times that work for required participants and indicated flexibility to accommodate calendars.

Next steps: Commissioner Harper will serve as the planning commission’s appointed member to the Subdivision Review Committee; staff will coordinate meetings as needed.
