County planning staff presented revised preliminary and final development plans and a conditional use permit (CUP) for a personal storage facility known as Storage Hall at 7225 West 200th Street during the Sept. 25 agenda review.

Michelle Leininger, county planning staff, said the applications (Resolution No. 122-25; application numbers E25-510-CUP, E25-511-PDP and E25-512-FDP) propose three new enclosed storage buildings on the east side of the 6.37-acre site plus a small addition on the southern building, adding 14,580 square feet of interior storage. The application also proposes an expansion of exterior storage along the western and southern property lines; that exterior storage triggers the conditional-use review and the CUP request for a 10-year term.

Leininger said the East zoning board reviewed the item Sept. 3 and recommended approval with staff-recommended stipulations; “No members of the public spoke on this item,” she said. Commissioners asked about a stipulation requiring cut-off-style light fixtures (dark-sky/controlled fixtures) and the reason gravel rather than pavement is proposed for a northeast portion of the site. Leininger said the lighting stipulation is a carryover from a prior CUP and the gravel matches the existing site conditions. She noted the only paved area is the street entrance to the secured gate and that the county code does not require paving of the five aisles in that industrial district; staff included dust-abatement provisions as part of the conditions.

During the agenda review a commissioner moved the application to “action” for the regular meeting; no final vote on approval or denial is recorded in the audio segment provided.
