Livingston Parish adopts parishwide zoning code; draft master plan sets future land-use framework

The Livingston Parish Council has a parishwide zoning code in place and is reviewing a draft 2025 master plan that lays out a future land-use map intended to guide rezonings and long-term growth.
Nathan Lipson, project manager for WSP, said the council voted to implement a parishwide zoning code and that it went into effect on Feb. 27. “Organized, and controlled growth is is one of the main goals,” Lipson said, describing why parishwide regulation was needed.
