The Bellevue Planning Commission voted to approve a rezoning and small subdivision plat for Moore Acres, a replat of parts of tax lots 12 and 13 at 1902 Lola Avenue, and will forward the item to the City Council for a public hearing Oct. 21, 2025.
Tammy, Planning Department staff, told commissioners staff had initially recommended a continuance to allow the applicant to submit revisions but after the applicant supplied those revisions this week the department changed its recommendation to approval “based upon conformance with the zoning ordinance, the subdivision regulations, and compatibility with the existing neighborhood.” The cases are Z-2507-07 and SD-2507-13.
Clancy Peterson, appearing on behalf of the applicant, said the small subdivision is a preparatory step for a larger future development and that the applicant will request de‑annexation of the southern portion of Lot A in a later action. Commissioners asked about interim access. Peterson said there will be a temporary ingress and egress easement until the second plat creates dedicated access; an exhibit showing the interim access was provided and Public Works found it acceptable. Peterson added that the developer and the adjacent property owner, identified in the record as Mr. Mora, will need to coordinate directly on access before a dedicated right of way exists.
Commissioner Ackley moved to approve the application “based upon a lack of perceived negative impact upon the surrounding area and conformance with the zoning ordinance”; Commissioner Lazenberg seconded the motion and the commission voted unanimously to carry it. The commission recorded no public testimony at the hearing.
The approval clears the Planning Commission step and the matter will be scheduled for a City Council public hearing on Oct. 21, 2025; the applicant also intends to pursue a de‑annexation request later to incorporate the southern portion of Lot A into a sanitary improvement district (SID).
