Court approves KYTC supplemental agreements, reallocates $24,475 toward Northrace Fork bridge work

Scott County Fiscal Court on Sept. 25 approved supplemental agreements with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to address bid and scope changes on two road/bridge projects, moving $24,475 from the Mount Horeb award to the Northrace Fork project to cover added work.
County staff said the low bid for Northrace Fork exceeded the original award amount because the contractor had to raise the bridge elevation and add paving, increasing the contract scope. The county sought permission to transfer $24,475 from Mount Horeb’s award to Northrace Fork, and the cabinet agreed.
County members asked about total local cost. Staff said the county’s reserve or transfer contribution will still be “a little over $100,000” to complete the projects, and noted the change does not alter prior contract approvals; the county is waiting for the contractor to return a signed contract so the county can issue a notice to proceed.
Action: Motion to approve supplemental agreements carried on a motion from David Livingston, seconded by Rob Jones; the court recorded the motion as passed.
Next steps: Staff will finalize the contract with Todd Johnson Contracting and issue the notice to proceed when the signed contract is received.
