Council members directed staff to prepare a resolution authorizing the city to apply for an Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Land and Water Conservation Fund grant to support a proposed splash pad for 2026. Staff said the grant program will provide up to $500,000 as a maximum award and that the application is due Nov. 14.
Staff said the resolution of authorization may use the city’s standard format and that the project sponsor may utilize an ordinance or resolution to authorize filing the application. Council voted on a motion to prepare the necessary resolution authorizing the grant application; the motion passed on roll call with all members recorded as voting yes.
Staff indicated they had included the complete application packet in council member packets and will return with the resolution language for formal adoption. If awarded, a subsequent agreement would be brought forward per ODNR procedures.
