Grant County commissioners on Sept. 25 ratified a resolution to continue the county’s membership in the Southwest New Mexico Council of Governments (COG) and approved representation for the Regional Transportation Planning Organization (RTPO).
A county representative on the COG board said current delegates — Andrea and the representative speaking — and RTPO members Joseph Haugene and Jason Lockett were present. The staff recommendation, communicated at the meeting, was to replace Jason Lockett with Mike Rocco for RTPO duties given the transportation focus of RTPO activities. Commissioners approved the change by motion and voice vote and authorized payment of dues required for continued membership.
The resolution formalizes the county’s continuing participation in the intergovernmental body and updates the county’s designated RTPO representative as recommended by staff.
