Councilmembers noted staff workloads, an ongoing IRS audit and other pending items as reasons to give staff more time to prepare materials. One councilmember asked staff to post an agenda if urgent business arises before the penciled dates.
The council discussed public-notice requirements and staff noted that meeting packets must be posted on Friday as the new effective posting day under recent legislative change, so the council would know by the Friday before whether an October meeting would be needed.
There was no formal motion recorded to cancel the Oct. 2 meeting; the council treated Oct. 16 as a tentative placeholder and agreed to reconvene on Nov. 6 as the next regularly scheduled meeting if no additional business required an earlier session.
