Chase County awards courthouse cleaning contract to Rebecca Bernard at $85 per day

Bids opened at 8:30 a.m. included Emily Browning at $135 per day, Natalie Baney at $145 per day, and Rebecca Bernard at $85 per day. Commissioner Kurt Bernhardt moved to accept Bernard’s bid; Commissioner Billie Muehlenkamp seconded the motion. The roll call was Muehlenkamp — yes; Brown — abstain; Bernhardt — yes. The motion carried.
County Clerk Wendy Moe noted the current cleaning contract requires two weeks’ written notice for termination; Natalie Baney will continue through Sept. 23, 2025, and Rebecca Bernard will begin contracted cleaning on Sept. 24, 2025. The board did not record additional contract terms or contingency language at the meeting.
