Town council authorizes community survey to solicit resident priorities

A resident suggested offering a small prize drawing to increase response rates.
Councilmembers noted a printing and mailing cost and agreed the survey should be broad and short. The motion to allow the council president to prepare the survey and distribute it to town residents was moved and seconded; the council approved the motion by voice vote.
Councilmembers said they expect to review results and refine questions; no budget line was finalized at the meeting. The council discussed minimizing cost by using online tools supplemented by targeted mailings or postcards for residents not online.
