Hinsdale Township High School District 86 trustees adopted the district’s 2025‑28 e‑learning program on Sept. 25 following a required public hearing and administration presentations. The plan, required every three years by the state, keeps the district’s existing framework for e‑learning days but updates a small number of operational details.
Assistant superintendents and the academic cabinet told the board the e‑learning plan makes no substantive curricular changes but replaces the district’s prior videoconferencing platform with Google Meets for synchronous instruction should prolonged closures make live instruction necessary. Under the plan, the district will use asynchronous Canvas‑based instruction for designated e‑learning days (the plan provides for up to five e‑learning days annually); after those five, the district may use emergency days from the calendar.
Board members and administrators addressed access concerns. The district issues Chromebooks to students and maintains an inventory of cellular hotspots through a T‑Mobile partnership for students who lack home Internet. Administrators said hotspots are preassigned to identified families and distributed in advance to those students; counseling and building leadership may also refer students for equipment if household needs arise. The district’s help desk handles device provisioning.
The board approved Resolution 25.06 adopting the e‑learning plan by a 6–0 vote during the meeting’s consent/action portion.
