TDA staff told commissioners that remaining interest earnings in the Tulsa Tech tax-increment financing (TIF) account total roughly $7,000 and recommended remitting those funds to the Downtown Tulsa Partnership to fund repairs at the Center of the Universe. The board approved remittance of the interest earnings and closure of the Tulsa Tech TIF fund.
Staff said the $7,000 represented interest earnings from funds that were not expended earlier and that the amount should be transferred to the downtown organization for the stated repairs. The action followed prior 2021 resolutions designating remaining funds and interest to the downtown coordinating organization (now the Downtown Tulsa Partnership).
The motion passed with no recorded opposition. The remittance is a bookkeeping and close-out step for the TIF account; commissioners were briefed that this represents remaining interest, not principal project funding.
