TDA approves amendment allowing Terrence Crutcher Foundation to pursue multifamily option on MLK site

The Tulsa Development Authority approved a first amendment to the redevelopment agreement with the Terrence Crutcher Foundation and Tulsa Community Foundation to allow a potential multifamily development at 1605 and 1619 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
TDA staff presented a first amendment to the redevelopment agreement for property at 1605 and 1619 North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard with the Terrence Crutcher Foundation and Tulsa Community Foundation. The amendment changes the previously agreed project from two single-family homes to allow the developer to pursue a multifamily development.
The change does not itself rezone the property. The presentation made clear that zoning changes would be required for a multifamily use and that the developer has agreed to conduct a community engagement process; if the developer cannot meet necessary requirements to move forward, the project will revert to the original single-family-home plan in the original agreement.
Bill White of the Terrence Crutcher Foundation was present for questions, and commissioners asked to be kept informed of the community engagement process. The board approved the amendment in a roll-call vote with no recorded opposed votes.
