The Clute City Council on Sept. 25 voted unanimously to authorize the mayor to sign an interlocal agreement with Brazoria County to participate in the county’s road-repair program for fiscal year 2025–26. Resolution 42‑2025 authorizes the mayor to sign the interlocal agreement and directs staff to provide the required request forms. Council discussion clarified that the agreement establishes the cooperative relationship and that a specific list of eligible projects would be submitted later (the city expects to provide the project list in December). The resolution as presented reflected edits requested by council earlier; staff said the revised language removes language that previously allowed the county to specify scope and that the city will instead specify the work it wants done under the interlocal. Councilmember Eric Aguilar moved to approve the resolution; the motion passed unanimously. Council thanked Commissioner Burrows and Brazoria County for the partnership. No specific budget change or cost was identified at the meeting; councilmembers noted the interlocal typically covers up to a specified mileage limit and that any actual costs will be presented when the city submits request forms.
