Woodside council reappoints Dana Ward and approves consent items including contract scope increase

The council reappointment came after the committee appointments committee recommended Ward be moved from the town’s climate and sustainability committee to the environmental and open space committee; staff described the climate and sustainability committee as effectively inactive after multiple resignations. A council member moved to reappoint Dana Ward and the council approved the reappointment by unanimous vote.
The consent calendar covering routine items 1 through 3 was approved by roll call without removal. Council member Brown requested that item 4 be discussed separately. During discussion of item 4 Brown noted that the town had previously approved a contract with the vendor Good City for $660,000 and that the new action raised the total to $737,000. Brown said the recurring additions to contracts were a concern: "we gotta start thinking about all these things we keep adding," he said. Staff responded that the increase reflected an expanded scope requested by council (additional people on a mapping effort) and that the higher cost resulted from that expanded scope.
Brown moved approval of the resolution related to item 4; the motion was seconded and passed on a unanimous roll call.
