HYA, the district's engaged superintendent search firm, has completed a series of stakeholder focus groups, staff meetings and community sessions and will present a draft leadership profile to the board at a special meeting on Sept. 30. Board members were told HYA has posted an initial vacancy notice and will revise that posting to reflect the leadership profile after the Sept. 30 review; the firm will then screen applicants and schedule panel interviews for the board. The board discussed logistics: the search timeline includes multiple panel interview sessions and a concentrated schedule of meetings; the board chair said the process should lead to a decision by early December, followed by contract negotiation if a finalist is identified. Members asked whether administration and staff groups had been included in outreach; the update listed numerous building- and staff-level sessions that HYA had completed and noted an all-staff session at the high school and a parent and guardian stakeholder group. Members requested more detail on how candidate materials will be shared with the board. Staff said they would follow up with HYA on access to application materials and any dashboard or portal for board review.
