Commissioner Julie Thomas described two major differences from past bond measures: the term and the amount. “I believe what you have in front of you is a a 6 year bond,” she told the council, explaining the change was prompted by recent state law. Commissioners also proposed raising the usual $3.1 million authorization to $6.1 million to cover a longer list of projects.
