A town staff member told commissioners on Sept. 23 that the fiscal year is ending in about a week and that the new budget will take effect Oct. 1.
The staff member said they and a colleague were working to get invoices submitted and complete end-of-year processes before the budget adoption becomes effective. "We only have about 7 days left in our fiscal year. So Ty and I are trying to get in all of our invoices and do our end of year processes. And then we're gonna adopt the new budget. We'll get that entered. And then on October 1, that will go into effect," the staff member reported.
The comments were delivered as an administrative update; the transcript does not show a formal vote on budget adoption at that meeting. The staff member also said they would take vacation after the budget work was completed.
This item was presented as an update from town administration rather than a formal budget hearing or adoption motion in the transcript.
